Meet our Glass Processing Apprentice Kieran

Like all our other apprentices, Kieran started his apprenticeship with Bowlphish Glass Services as a Glass Processing Apprentice in March this year. Prior to his apprenticeship he attended college for two years, but wanted to gain an additional qualification.

Kieran had an interest in glass processing already, so applied for this apprenticeship, when he saw it advertised online. His focus currently is to make sure all products are fully toughened safety glass before they leave for delivery. During his apprenticeship, Kieran will also learn to cut, polish and handle glass, he will work the polishing machine and he will also learn about all the health and safety requirements with glass.

Apart from being a team player, Kieran also turned out to be thriving in a hands-on role and is very precise in everything he does, an ideal characteristic to have as a Glass Processing Apprentice.

Within his first weeks, Kieran realised how much he enjoys working in a team, where everyone is friendly. He also mentioned how much he loves working on the cutting machine, but would also like to get better at using the drilling machine.

In the future, Kieran would like to work full-time as a Glass Cutting and Toughening Expert and this apprenticeship is the first step in achieving his goal.

Welcome to the team Kieran!
