Local Co-Working Spaces

Local co-working spaces - example: Squirhill
You probably heard us talk about co-working spaces before, and as this is still a hot topic and the recent growth has been phenomenal. Unlike a serviced-office model, co-workers share a range of facilities such as furniture, printing, phones, operational and technical support. They also share costs such as internet and electricity, meaning is often less expensive than renting a regular office.
But what if you don’t live near a big city or prefer a more personal feel? Why not consider a local co-working space, which offer the same benefits but on a smaller more personal scale?
An example, we would like to give you is Squirhill, a collaborative workspace, offering coworking, event and exclusive meeting space, located in Fenny Compton, on a farm in converted horse stables – doesn’t this sound idyllic? Even better: using their co-working space enables you to use BowlPhish Glass Wipe Boards to compile your ideas or come up with your next ground-breaking business idea.
Why would you decide to set up a co-working space surrounded by countryside? A question we asked Kiara Harper, founder and owner of Squirhill. Her response was:
“After graduating in 2007 I started my career as an Engineer in the automotive industry but have always had an entrepreneurial streak. I started my first business, Bakery Cakery, in 2008 however have always continued to seek out new ways for both myself and others to develop and grow which is where the dream of Squirhill came from.
I dreamt of a place where entrepreneurs, freelancers and small business alike had the opportunity to develop and grow amongst a group of wonderful like-minded people. A place that wasn’t home, but felt like it, that wasn’t a coffee shop, but offered it and that wasn’t your traditional office but had the facilities of it.
I began my search for a countryside location, looking for something that was remote enough to create a sense of freedom but close enough to limit the commute. I was delighted when I came across the barn in Fenny Compton….it was perfect.”
Along the way to create the perfect collaborative work-space, Kiara came across our glass writing boards, which she thought would be perfect to create that quality space, she was looking for.
