How The Glass Wipe Board Company has adapted it operations during this period – from CEO Aaron Dewhurst.
We are all currently facing challenging and unprecedented times, but I am confident and optimistic that our government will support us all in these times of need and uncertainty.
For the past 2 weeks we have been adapting the way we work as instructed by our Prime Minister.
Monday 2nd March - we changed to antibacterial hand-wash and paper towels and addressed the company.
Friday 13th March - we start to prepare for those able to work from home, to be able to do so.
Monday 16th March - early evening our Prime Minister ask all those who are able to work from home to do this.
Wednesday 18th March - our Sales and Marketing teams are fully functional and working from home. We split our operations team into 4 groups and isolating them the best we can, fully wiping down area’s between shifts and breaks so as to limit any risk of the virus spreading and wiping out all of our production team in one go.
Weekend 21st/22nd March - I made the following decision that by Friday 27th March 2020 we will temporarily close our doors to help in the fight to stop the spread of the virus, and which we feel is the right and best decision in the current climate.
Monday 23rd March - Boris Johnson restricts all unessential travel. However, allows the manufacturing and constructions industry to continue working, where they are not able to work from home.
Tuesday 24th March - we stop taking new orders and notify all customers we will not be do any more deliveries until it is safe to do so.
Friday 27th March - we plan to temporarily shut down manufacturing, until the government confirms it is safe to return to work.
I would like to thank all of our staff, for having to adjust their working patterns as needs must and for their never-ending support, it is much appreciated.
As a collective we all need to do the right thing to give the vulnerable and NHS a fighting chance of survival, stay well and stay safe.
