Consumerism Vs Environment: How do we find the balance in interior design?
Posted 4 years ago by The Glass Wipe Board Company Team
Most of us I’m sure would say we want to do what’s best for the environment - right? But what do we do when that comes in direct conflict with what is best for our business and our employees?
How can we ensure we maintain both financially sustainable businesses and environmentally sustainable practices?
In the first of this 3-part video series - The Ideas Board - we’ll be spotlighting some of our industry partners who are leading the way on some important and exciting topic. In our first episode, we chat with Eco Interior Designer – Lucy Abraham.
Lucy is the founder and director of The Collective Agency – a commercial interior design agency who specialise in eco-friendly office design, sustainable office furniture, and recyclable office supplies.
At a time of big change in commercial interiors and office design trends, we have a great opportunity to start a fresh – and begin how we mean to go on when revamping our workspaces and office fit out projects.
As Lucy highlights, the key is to focus on choosing quality well designed products which last; not only does this makes more financial sense long term but is also better for the environment as it means we dispose of less and repurchase less often. If we can choose products which are made from recycled materials for your eco-friendly interior design– even better!
We were proud to work with The Collective Agency in supplying them with one of our wall mounted hidden fixings board – in our classic Great White colour. This sleek, stylish and minimalist board adds a great sense of contrasting textures to the room and works well in complimenting the earthy colours and textures of the plants.
